President and Chief Executive Officer
As president and chief executive officer, Steve sets the strategic direction of C.H. Dean and leads the firm’s associates to fulfill the company mission of delivering an exceptional client experience.
Steve has more than 35 years of experience providing investment, tax, and business advice to clients. He believes that the most effective wealth managers genuinely care about their clients. They invest the time to understand a combination of the client’s complete financial picture and personal values in order to deliver impactful advice and solutions that help clients live the life they envision. This philosophy of becoming a life partner for clients is the foundation of Dean’s culture.
He joined Dean in 1992 as the firm’s corporate controller. Over the years he has held positions as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. In 2001 he assumed the role of president and was named CEO of the firm in 2017. He spent more than 10 years in public accounting before joining Dean.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin College and a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Over the years he has served on the boards of various charitable and arts organizations in the Dayton area. In his spare time he enjoys golf and Indiana University basketball.
